About Us

Justice and Women is a gender-justice organization based in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, working to challenge and transform inequitable power relationships within the organization and outside in the community.

Our aim is create spaces, where people can experience power in a new way – rather than power over or oppressive power – “power with” relationships that uphold our core values: gender equity, responsibility for self, peace and harmony, hope for the future. To facilitate this process, JAW works to create safe spaces, to build voice and agency, to foster a sense of personal dignity, and to model the change we want to see in the world using the organization itself as our core teaching and learning tool.
